Right now, Manuela and I are on the plane on our way back to Sweden. It’s almost 3 in the morning there, but only 9 at night in Toronto – so I can’t really sleep although I wish I could. Manuela is stretched out beside me (we have three middle seats) and she doesn’t seem to be having any problems. But at least I have some time to reflect on our time in Canada…
We are at my parents’ house in Canada for the holidays this year. Almost the whole family is here – my sister Andrea, her husband Dave and their little girl Karah are back from England, my little sister Deanna is home from university and my brother Mark and his wife Rachel, who live close to Toronto, have been around quite a bit. Only my sister and her family from Calgary couldn’t make it, because they’ve recently had twin girls. And my parents are really happy to have so many of us here again.
Manuela’s dear friend Jeannette and her sister Miriam came to visit us over the weekend. We could catch up, laugh together and have family group Sunday night. They blended in so well with the students and we enjoyed every minute we could have together.
